Obituary for Charles W. Horner

Charles W. Horner
Charles Walter Horner, Age, 69, of Centre Hall, Pa, went home to be with the Lord peacefully on Saturday evening November 19th 2016. His loving wife, Elaine, and daughter, Stacey, were by his side in his much loved home.

He was a graduate of Keystone High School in Knox, Pa and Allegheny Technical Institute in Pittsburgh, Pa. Following graduation, he worked for Westinghouse Space and Defense Center, then spent two years in the military and later worked as an appliance repair service man in Knox. Chuck retired in January 2002 after 31 years in the cable TV industry, starting out as a lineman in Clarion, Pa and retiring from AT&T Broadband in management. He based his business decision on the 3 C's: fairness for the company, the consumer and his co-workers.

His talents for doing almost anything carried through not only in his work environment but also his time in retirement. He loves his John Deer tractors and using all of their accessories to help out friends and neighbors. He always said that God gave him the ability to do these things and it was his responsibility to give back to anyone that could use those talents. He loved his family, Southern Gospel music, singing the old hymns that told the story of Jesus. His favorite saying was "Every day is a good day, some are just better than others".

On March 25, 1967, Chuck married Elaine Clutz at Knox UMC in Knox, Pa, who survives along with one daughter, Stacey Faircloth and husband Michael of York, Pa. One sister, Judy Cobb and husband Jerry of Atlanta, Ga; one brother, Dana Horner and Elizabeth and nephew Jacob of Kossuth, Pa, along with various other nieces and nephews who live in Ga.

He was preceded in death by grandparents, Mabel and Walter Webb, Lena and Charles Horner; parents, June Webb and Ivan Charles Horner; and one sister-in-law, Kelly Myers Horner.

Memorial services will be held at Grace United Methodist Church, 127 South Pennsylvania Avenue, PO Box 292, Centre Hall, PA 16828, on November 26, 2016, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Mark Messner officiating. In lieu of flowers please send donations to The Kitchen Fund at Grace UMC.
