Obituary for Rebecca Ann Mann (Gibboney)

Rebecca Ann Mann (Gibboney)

Rebecca Ann Mann, 67, of Culpeper, VA, formerly of State College, died Monday, June 5, 2017 at the Culpeper Medical Center.

Born November 30, 1949 in Bellefonte she was the daughter of the late David Elmer and Barbara Jean (Jenvey) Gibboney. On January 13, 1973 she married Andrew Mann who preceded her in death on September 21, 1980.

Rebecca worked at the Mathews Hallmark Store in the Nittany Mall for 30 years. She retired in 2008, as the assistant manager. Rebecca, better known as Becky or Becca to most, was a gentle and kind person. She loved collecting snowmen and Precious Moments figurines, as well as Christmas ornaments -- adoring the Disney characters of Rudolph and Winnie the Pooh with her oldest granddaughters. Becky loved watching butterflies, and her favorite time of year was when the leaves changed and the snow began to fall. She loved playing computer games, crocheting and shopping with her two daughters. She spent a lot of time keeping up with her grandchildren’s athletic events and coloring with her youngest granddaughter. She enjoyed watching soap operas, and above all else, spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by two daughters, Devonnie Cooper (Ken) of Pleasant Gap and Jennifer Waterman (Vonn) of Culpeper, VA; one brother, Benjiman Gibboney (Kellie) of Pleasant Gap; one sister, Dianne Flory (Bob) of Bellefonte and six grandchildren, Hannah, Vanessa and Mason Cooper and Sean, Isaiah and Marlee Waterman.

Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 12, 2017, at the Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Services, 1034 Benner Pike, State College. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor David Fultz officiating. Interment will be in the New Union Cemetery, Fleming.
