Dear Peggy and Family, Al was a great guy, engineer, boss and friend. he gave me so much that I truly treasure. I looked up to him in so many ways. on a weekly basis we would talk about our on going work, being section heads at NRL and life in general. I looked forward to hearing his laugh and hear what he had to say about a problem. having supervised this group now for ten years, I can say his legacy at the lab is alive and well. people who see what we do come to me and say this team is awesome, Al shaped the choices, direction and our corporate culture in the section. The Navy has benefited from this directly at a very important time for all of us, again, his legacy lives. On the day of his 70th birthday I had the pleasure of having lunch with my son (he is graduating this semester) and Al at AIPR, a moment I will treasure forever. I am sorry I can't be there tomorrow, but know that he and you all are in my heart. Carlos
