Obituary for Kenneth M. "Kenny" Walk

Kenneth M. "Kenny"  Walk
Kenneth M. Walk, 72, of Milesburg died Thursday, January 26, 2017, at the Mount Nittany Medical Centre, State College.

He was born June 19, 1944, in Bellefonte, PA, a son of the late Clifford M. and Loraine E. (Holderman) Walk. On June 6, 1970, in Mill Hall, he married Kay L. (Rupert) Walk, who survives at home.

Kenny was a 1965 graduate from the Bald Eagle Area High School. He then went on to serve our country in the United States Marine Corps from 1965-1971. During that time he fought in the Vietnam War and received the following metals: NDSML, VSM w/2*, VCM, PUC, CAR, GCMDL. In 1971, he was honorability discharged. He then started his career as a Truck Driver for the Bottled Gas Company; he retired after 30 years of service.

Throughout his life he did a lot of hiking with his family. He was an outdoorsman who loved National Geographic’s. His passion was cooking, woodworking, and playing solitaire on the computer. Kenny was a prankster who enjoyed making people laugh; an intelligent, kindhearted man who had the patients of a Saint, but more than anything, he loved his family.

Along with his wife Kay, he is survived by one daughter, Tina L. Doone (Edward T.) of Milesburg; one son, Christopher M. Walk (Fay L.) of Pine Grove Mills; two sisters, Brenda Walker, Linda Gummo; four brothers, Nevin, Barry, Joe, and John; five grandchildren, Ryan Kaltreider, Kaitlyn Doone, Miranda Walk, Frances Walk, and Maxine Walk.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one grandson, Derek Kaltreider.


Friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 31, 2017, at the Mark D. Heintzelman Funeral and Cremation Services, 1034 Benner Pike, State College. The funeral will immediately follow at 12:00 p.m., with Pastor Drew Foster officiating. Burial will take place at Centre County Memorial Park with full military accordance. A late lunch will be held at the Milesburg Community Center following the burial.
