Obituary for Lynn C. Hile

Lynn C. Hile
Lynn Clark Hile was born March 26, 1943, to Clark Vinton Hile and Eloise Pownell Hile, who resided in Pleasant Gap, PA.

In 1961, he was a graduate of Bellefonte Area High School. Lynn attended Philadelphia College of Bible from 1961-1965. Upon receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Bible, he attended Grace Theological Seminary in Winona Lake, IN. In 1967, he married Carole Dawson. The following year, he graduated from Grace Theological Seminary and received his Bachelor of Divinity degree (1968).

After his schooling, Lynn accepted an assignment as youth director at the First Baptist Church in Butler, PA. In 1972, he moved his family to Howard, PA, to be the pastor of Romola Bible Church, in which capacity he served until 1989.

At this point in time, he continued working in various areas of interest such as home remodeling. He also started a lawn care business, which is still operated by his son, Chris Hile. In 1991, his wife, Carole, passed away from cancer.

Eventually, Lynn moved to the Harrisburg area and made his livelihood in window sales. In 2007, he married Gloria Duffy. He retired in 2014 and was able to spend more time with his family, and also with his friends on the golf course.

Lynn C. Hile is survived by his wife, Gloria, of Dillsburg; his daughters, Natalie Cross, of North Hollywood, CA, and Jennifer Brown, of Harrisburg; his son, Christopher Hile, of Pleasant Gap; his step-daughters, Karen Bice, of New Cumberland, and Janet Keiter, of Dillsburg; his seven brothers and sisters, eleven grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
